The Transformers - Creepy & Crawlie

They were learning about caterpillars and butteflies last week. As part of the lessons, they were given two caterpillars and a stalk of leaves to bring home and hopefully witness the transformation. So they were named Creepy and Crawlie. We were given instructions to change the paper lining daily because these fellas were gorging themselves and as a result, they pooed A LOT. This was in preparation when they coccon themselves for the transformation. One fresh leaf was to be given to them twice a day. By the 2nd day, they both stopped eating and started anchoring themselves to the mesh. By day 3, they were already cocooned. On the day 9, both started emerging, unfortunately, only 1 made it while the other appeared to not have the strength to emerge fully from the cocoon.
