An afternoon at the Mountbatten Children Community Library
We spent the afternoon at the Mountbatten Children Community Library because Viv found out that they had they a big collection of Ladybird books for kids. The Mountbatten CCL is located at ground floor of the Katong Community Centre.
We had lunch at Kim Moh Restaurant at Laguna Park before heading for the the CCL. When we got there, I was suprised to find that we were the only ones there, apart from the friendly & helpful librarian. It was a cosy place, with several kiddy tables and chairs, and best of all, lots of books for kids. Viv managed to find several Ladybird books for Ash, thus mission accomplished.

As the NLB was having the DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) promotion, we were entitled to a lucky dip for borrowing 8 books. This is what we got; a bag which will come in useful for our next visit to the library. Well, we didn't actually "win" the bag, what we actually picked was a paper-clip, but the librarian was kind really nice and she gave us the bag instead.
And of course Ash had to carry it.

From the NLB website :

Community Children's Libraries (CCLs) are located in the void decks of HDB (Housing & Development Board) estates, and are targeted at children aged 10 and under. CCLs offer books in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil in addition to multimedia terminals to make learning fun.
