Happy Mother's Day ??

11 May - Even with Brufen, her fever never went below 38 degrees, ie, Ash was having fever the entire day. By 5pm, we decided that somethng wasn't right and went to KKH again. By 6.30pm, her fever had reached 39.6 degrees. Doctor suggested admitting her because of her past hisotry of fits, we agreed. That night after admission, when I went home to collect a change of clothes for Viv and myself, her fever had reached 40 degrees and Viv had a hard time sponging her down. According to Viv, Ash kept crying "help, help, help me" while she as being sponged. It didn't seem funny then, but it was funny trying to visualise it after that.

14 May - Past 2 days have been tiring for both of us, having to "battle" to get Ash to down her multitude of medication; paracetamol, 4 hourly, Fluimucil, thrice a day, Ventolin puffs, 4 hourly, Flixotide puffs, twice a day, Singular, once a day. Have yet to include her meals and fluids. Ash is now constipated. She's not eating as well. Fluid intake has been averaging 1/2 litre daily. And her fever is still there though, no longer those over 39 degrees. Her blood and urine tests did not indicate bacterial infection, so it's viral and Dr. Kumudhni said it'll take 7-10 days to burn itself out. This is one powerful virus for her fever to last so long.

3:40pm - Ash will be discharged this evening and she lit up when we told her she was going hoem today. She's still having an on-off low grade fever, but at least it is controllable with paracetamol. Poor girl's voice has also become hoarse from all the crying over the past 2 days. She also had Microlax suppository inserted this afternoon as she had been straining to poo since Sunday. With that, she finally moved her bowel...a fairly hard lump. Noticed that after that, she became more cheerful. Coincidence ?
