HFMD !!!!

It finally happened, Ash was diagnosed with the dreaded Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease at 2130 hrs last night. At about 2050hrs, Viv saw some spots on her palm and we found a couple of faint spots on her feet. Managed to call Dr. Zainal and we're really thankful that he stayed back to see Ash even though it was closing time. We rushed from home to his clinic at Hougang Mall. He did the usual external checks and we held our breaths and hoped it wasn't what was already obvious. He finally checked her throat and confirmed that a collection of blisters had formed at the back......Ash had HFMD. We're now hoping that it will be a mild one for her as I've heard of cases where kids had HFMD but were still active as usual.
The worse of it will be the next 3-5 days when the blisters start to hurt and she doesn't want to eat and drink. So far she's not shown any signs of pain or discomfort.

Just before she slept, she said to us "My birthday coming, you know" - I felt like crying.

"Heavenly Father, watch with us over your child Ashley, and grant that she may be restored to that perfect health which it is yours alone to give; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."
