FEVER AGAIN !!!!!

Damn it !!! Ash is down with fever again :(
Ash was fine this morning and in her class. When she got home at around 2pm, she had a nap and woke at abt 3pm. We noticed that she looked flush and she was also cranky, refusing to eat her porridge. Took her temperature and found she was running a 38.1 degree fever !!! Where did this one come from ? Did she catch it at during last Thursday's visit to KKH, did she catch it from some other kid at the centre, did she catch it at her class today or is it teething ???
So tonight it's shift duty again for Viv and I.

Faces of Ashley

24 May 2007
Brought Ash for her review at KKH this afternoon. Had already made arrangements with Jo to pick her up at 2:15PM. After picking her up, had trouble getting her into the car. She wanted to be carried and refused to be locked into the car-seat. So there we were standing in the sun, car door open and she wailing away. After spending more than 5 mins trying to persuade her to sit in the car-seat and failing, I stuffed her into the car-seat......I think the whole neighbourhood heard her !! As we drove off, I kept telling her that we were going to see mummy and that she was a good girl. In between her sobs I heard " Daddy Bad, Daddy Bad !"
But it didn't take long for her to settle down to sucking her thumb.
While waiting to see Dr. Tan, Ash was quite chatty in the waiting area, but when we got into Dr. Tan's room, she was quiet and cried when Dr. Tan offered her some stickers. She seems to be wary of strangers as she grows older. Anyway, she got a clean bill of health and next appointment is 6 months later.

We next dropped by Mothercare and Viv bought her a blouse and pant set with the vouchers we got for Ash's 1st birthday.

At Ikea

Had no plans this evening so we decided to bring Ash to Ikea. First stop was to get the famous $1 chicken hotdogs. Both Viv and I had one each and Ash was happy sharing a bit from the both of us.
Got to the kiddies' bedroom section and Ash somehow knew that this was HER area and demanded to be brought down from the trolley that she was sitting in.

She had fun there.
But we couldn't escape going thru the children's section......she didn't want to leave after that. I had to carry her writhing and crying away. She eventually stopped when I told her that if she carried on crying, we wouldn't bring her out again. All was well until just before we put her into the car, Viv had let her sit the main section of the trolley instead of the child-seat and she apparently enjoyed sitting there and refused to get out. Once again, I had to drag her crying into the car.
Oh yes, and what did we buy ? A red dustbin and 2 cardboard storage boxes.

New Sandals

Mummy bought a new pair of sandals from Collette for Ashley today. Collette was having a store wide sale, 20% off all items. Perfect timing as she was out-growing her Barney sandals.
She loved it so much that when I brought her out for a walk this evening, Ashley said "No No, go home....walk there". She waked round the entire estate and did not asked to be carried except when she needed to cross the drains.

Other crazy stuff that Ash did today :
Stuffing herself into a basket and stuffing bear-bear into the potty !

Brought Ash for her long over-due DPT booster jab yesterday evening. She was a brave girl, she cried only very briefly when Dr. Zainal jabbed her on her left thigh. Mummy and Daddy were very proud of her. She was actually also supposed to receive her MMR jab, but unfortunately, or should it be fortunately, stocks had run out. Also had Dr. Zainal look at the rashes that had developed at the crook of both her elbows which she had scratched till it was all red and sore. The rashes weren't there in the morning and I'm just curious how it just suddenly appeared. Anyway, nothing to worry about, a little Desonide for the next few days should do the trick. Had her height measured : 82.5 cm - slightly above average was the response from Dr. Zainal, which is good. She's gonna be a tall girl.
Oh yes, and Grace from the centre was giving Viv a hard time because of our intention to withdraw Ash in June. She's a bad liar and poor business woman.

Happy Mother's Day !

"Sometimes you get discouraged because I am so small,
And always leave my fingerprints on the furniture and walls,
But everyday, I am growing - I'll be grown someday,
And all those tiny handprints will surely fade away,
So here's a little handprint, just so you can recall exactly how my fingers looked,
When I was very small."

Still Coughing

Brought Ash to see Dr. Zainal again. Her cough wasn't getting better after 5 days of medication. So it wasn't a suprise when Dr. Zainal said that she had some phlegm in her lungs, in other words, mild bronchitis. Her medication was changed to Ventolin to reduce spasmic coughing and Fluimucil to loosen and reduce phlegm.
Despite this, she was cheerful and even posed for mummy to take these shots of her when we got home.

Dripping Noses and Coughs

Ever since we got back from Klang, this flu has been threatening to go full blown. And it finally did last Thursday. I think we all caught it on the flight back where there was this lady sitting behind us coughing the entire journey.
Friday night, Ash woke up coughing violently and vomitted a little after choking on phlegm.
By Sunday evening, Ash could have been mistaken for Santa's Rudolf.... her nose was red from constant wiping. You wouldn't believe how badly her nose was running, like a dripping tap.
This morning, her runny nose seemed a little better, but the phlegmy cough was still there. She was otherwise in a cheerful mood.

Avocado = carrrrr-doe

"Do you want to eat porridge with Avocado ?" mummy asked.
Ash nods her head "Yes ! pour-ridge, carrrr-doe"

She loves eating avocado, she'll eat cereal with avocado, porridge with avocado, papaya with avocado, we're still finding out what else she'll eat with caarrr-doe.

Klang - 27 Apr - 1 May

Ash had been on planes before, but she had never been scared of flying. This time round, the moment the engines roared during take-off, she clung onto mummy like a koala. Same situation during landings.

Gong-Gong's Rocking Horse

Gong-gong had crafted this rocking horse by hand, no nails, all form-fitted. A one-of-a-kind model not available anywhere else. She really enjoyed playing with it.

Thank you, Gong-Gong !!
