A day at the beach

Today we brought Ash to Pasir Ris park beach. It was our 2nd attempt at bringing Ash to the beach. The last time we tried, she simply refused to budge an inch when she was put on the sand. But this evening we pesevered. Initially she just stood there on the sand and insisted to be carried, but we ignored her. After about 5-10 mins, realising that we weren't going to carry her, she started poking around in the sand with her spade. Slowly, she started to realise that it was fun and eventually squat down to play in the sand.

Next we encouraged her to walk down to the water's edge without her sandals. Since she didn't quite like the texture of the sand on her feet, I stood her on my feet, held her two hands and slowly walked her down. Each step I took, I dug my feet into the sand so that she could feel the texture of the sand on her feet. We eventually got her walking gingerly over the sand and to the water's edge. Ash has always loved playing with water and once her feet touched the cool sea water, all her uneasiness just disappeared.

All in all, this evening's outing to the beach was a success - she is no longer afraid of walking on sand.

A Farewell Gift

Today was Ash's last day at Academy Kidz. Teacher Hedy got her a special gift and a home-made farewell card. Someday when Ash is older, shall let her read the card. So young and yet she's able to make an impact to someone's life.

Ash starts at Pat's next week. Hope she'll be able to adapt to a new environment quickly, make new friends and have teachers who really cares for her.

One from Mummy's Scrap Book !

This was taken during one of Ash's recent fever episodes. Her fever was down and she was in a cheerful mood. So instead of cooping her in the house, we decided to bring her downstairs for a walk - to get a little fresh air and some fun.
Errr...a little R(A) though, in her see thru pants :)

Where is Tellytubby ?

Down the drain pipe, that's where TinkyWinky went !!
Last night Ash didn't want to get out of the bath-tub after her bath. I had already allowed her an extra 10mins in it to play with her Tellytubby bath toys. So when I turned the shower off, she started screaming for me to go away and when I reached out to pick her up, she suddenly threw TinkyWinky (that's the purple one) onto the floor and TinkyWinky went sliding sliding sliding across the floor, bounced off the wall and straight down the drain pipe !!
I raised my voice and scolded her, Ash knew I was really angry and didn't make much of fuss when I picked her up to be towelled down and changed. Later, while we were playing in the hall, she suddenly looked at me and asked " Where Tellytubby ?" in her sweetest voice and most innocent look. Sigh..........*shaking head*

Throat Infection

It was a tiring week for the whole family, Ash was down with a throat infection causing fast rising fevers in the 39 degree range. Her fever finally broke on Wednesday night, 2 days after starting her on antibiotics.

Finally managed to catch a photo of Ash and Ian together. Ian is her friend at the centre, she "talks" about him all the time. Wonder if she's going to miss him at the end of the month when she moves over to Pat's Schoolhouse ?
