Weekend at Sentosa

Day 3 - 23 Mar

We woke up late this morning. We made our way down to Koufu for breakfast where Ash had her half-boiled eggs and kaya bun again.
Since it was check-out day, there wasn't much that we could do, so we decided to bring Ash for a swim at the kids' pool.
We checked out at 1pm, loaded our stuff in the car and headed to the Imbiah Lookout for lunch at Tastes of Singapore. And after that it was farewell Sentosa !
Weekend at Sentosa

Day 2 - 22 Mar

Breakfast was at Koufu. Ordered the Bun set for Ash which consisted of 2 half-boiled eggs, a butter & kaya bun and a cup of coffee, which I had instead. Viv and I had minced meat & century egg porridge.
After breakfast, we headed to the Dolphin Lagoon to catch the Ind0-Pacific Humpback dolphins in action. Oh yes, but before that, here's a photo of my two cool babes waiting for the tram to take us to the lagoon.
And now to the dolphins.

By the time the show as over at about 11:30am, the heat and sleepiness had taken it's toll on Ash...cranky, cranky, cranky. So we headed back our room for her nap.
We next headed to the Underwater World when Ash woke, or more like when we woke Ash up at 2:30pm. Lunch was at the Food Gallery behind Underwater World. Choices there were limited and so it was chicken rice for all of us. It was funny to watch Ash in Underwater World, she was afraid of the Japanese crabs which were huge, looking like an alien. Whenever a shark or sting ray swam overhead, she'd put her hand over head to cover, afraid that the shark or sting ray might bite her :)
By the time we came out, it had started raining, so we had no choice but to head back to the hotel.
Dinner of pan fried cod, ginger frog legs, Thai style kai-lan and Xiao Long Bao was at the Silk Road of the Sea Restaurant & Bar along Palawan beach. After dinner we headed to the Beach Station to catch the laser light show, Songs of the Sea. This is a simple story of Li, a young man gifted with a charming voice. One day while he was singing by the sea with his friends when he is stunned by the sudden vision of a beautiful sleeping girl, Princess Ami. Guided by a group of mischievous Sea Creatures, Li learns that she’s under the spell of an enchanted village and proceeds to break the spell thru his singing..

Weekend at Sentosa

Day 1 - 21 Mar

Arrived at the Amara Sanctuary Resort Hotel at 2:45pm. We were checked in by 3pm. As usual, Ash's first task was to "test"out the bed.

We finally settled at 4pm and decided to head down to Palawan beach for some fun in the sand, which was a short 5 min walk downhill (note that it is downhill, meaning that to get back to the hotel, it was uphill). We were glad to see that Koufu and 7-11 were just some of the beach front conveniences located there.

I've come to realise that my daughter isn't much of a beach person, although you can't really tell that from the photos. She'd step gingerly on the sand, want to wash her hands because there was sand, wash her spade because there was sand, wash her pail because there was sand, wash everything because there was sand on it ! Majority of kids will love the water, not Ash. She was afraid of the "big" wave splashing at her feet.

Dinner was at Koufu. Later that evening we took a stroll down to the Beach Station and explored the Imbiah Lookout - that's where the Merlion is situated. Managed to capture a night shot of the Merlion.

Photo Shoot

Thanks to Mummy for making the effort to arrange for this photo-shoot.
Once again, we went back to Foto-U. Our first photo-shoot with Foto-U was way back in Jun 06, when Ash was only 9 months old. Honestly, it was easier then, as compared to yesterday. As kids grow, it's harder and takes a lot more effort to get good shots of them.

The Little Red Hen
"One day Little Red Hen found some grains of wheat."Maybe I can make some bread from these," she thought. "I wonder how?""I know, I will ask my friends!" Then the Little Red Hen went to her three best friends and asked, "Will you help me?"Come and see exactly how helpful her friends Mouse, Cat, and Goose are. Learn some very valuable lessons about friendship and helping one another.Find out how Little Red Hen learns how to grow and harvest corn; and discovers how bread is made"
We brought Ash to watch this hour long play this afternoon by the iTheatre at the Alliance Française Theatre along Sarkies Road. Alice, Viv's friend, had bought the tickets for us and we met her there with her son, Ryan. All in all, it was an enjoyable performance. Ash had managed to sit quietly thru the entire performance, apart from her pre-performance tantrum, which was probably due to grouchiness from having been woken up from her afternoon nap.

We managed to catch Ash singing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 once I caught a fish alive this morning.

2 1/2 years old today

Ash is 30 months old today and she is also down with a fever today.
She was already sniffing with a runny nose and a slight cough yesterday. Then early this morning, I guess it is a mother's intuition, Viv somehow woke up at 5am to check on Ash's temperature, while I slept like a log....38.4 degrees.
After administering paracetamol, her fever eventually came down to 36.8 around 8am this morning, but by 9am, it gradually rose again. We brought her to see Dr. Zainal at his new clinic in Rivervale Plaza. She was presribed the usual fever control medications which we have stocks and stocks of in the fridge.
As of now, 5:30pm, her last taken temperature was 37.3 degrees and she is happily playing with Viv.

Evening at the Botanic Gardens

We decided to bring Ash to the Botanical Gardens this evening since the weather was fairly cool.
The intention was to visit the Jacob Ballas' Children's Garden, but we ended up at Eco Lake instead. Guess will have to do that during the next trip.
What's that in the water, mummy ?
I see a Swan and tortise
And pigeons !

How come you eat my bread ! ??

I will usually pack a slice or two of bread for Ash to eat in the car on the way home. Two days ago, Viv ate one slice and when Ash wanted her second slice and it was gone, she complained " How come you eat my breaaaddd ? Now I don't have anymore ! Naughty mummy ! "

Couldn't help but chuckle to myself from the front.

The Crying Game

No...nothing to do with Boy George's song, instead it's Ash. Recently she's started crying over little things. We can tell that it's not those cries because she's in pain or sick, it's just crying..... for the sake of crying. At the wrong time, it can really test your nerves and temper.
She cries because Monster Inc. ends, she cries because Mufasa (Simba's father in the Lion King) dies, she cries because she doesn't want to eat her banana, she cries because we don't do thngs they way wants us to, she cries because we said "no"....and the list goes on and on and on and on. I guess this should be part of her T2 phase, but then I've been told there's also a T3 phase......sob, sob, sob, sob.

JoJo's Circus

Recently I added Disney Playhouse to our Cable subscription, now every evening, Ash is asking for JoJo....and she cries when JoJo ends...SIGH !

Daddy, cannot say............

This happened a couple of weeks back and I guess it warrants a mention since I should have known better and be more careful with my words with Ash around.

Picked Ash up and was on our way to pick Viv. While we were along Rochor Road, a Getz suddenly cut into my lane from the right. I had to jam my brakes hard to avoid an accident.
Momentarily forgetting that Ash was in the back, I cursed out loud " WTF !" (for those who do not what what the acronym stands for....too bad :P )
Next moment, I heard Ash " Daddy, cannot say "fa", naughty ! "

From now on, will have to be careful with my words with Ash around.
